Thanks to the Smashburger pros in the Twin Cities for inviting me to their #EatandTweet event. I had a blast learning what makes Smashburger so special, and pigging out on their yummy burgers and fries. Smashburger has 9 locations all around the Twin Cities, the closest of which is in Eden Prairie in between the Mall and the Best Buy Store.
You can choose from their own yummy burger creations, or custom-design your own burger with just about every ingredient imaginable. My personal favorite was the Twin Cities Burger. Loosely based on the “Juicy Lucy,” this burger is loaded with mouth-watering cheese and onions. Did you know this? I didn’t: Every Smashburger location around the U.S. has its own regional favorite based on local cuisine. I also sampled their Smashfries (Tossed with rosemary, olive oil and garlic) and Sweet Potato Fries. These little nuggets were delicious as well.
I can’t wait until they have a Mankato location, and I told them so. You too? Tweet this: @Smashburger: Please bring your yummy creations to Mankato, MN! #MankatoBargains #EatandTweet. Or RETWEET me HERE.
The YUMMY Twin Cities Burger (Garlic grilled onions, cheddar, aged Swiss, lettuce, tomato and mayo on an onion bun).
Getting ready to smash a burger… learning the tricks of the trade from the guys who know best. The griddle needs to be HOT. 400 degrees. Brush the surface with butter. Not oil, not margarine. The GOOD stuff.
He’s showing me his muscles! I like a man with strength. Press down, metal to metal. Keep pressing for TEN seconds. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. DONE! Remove paper and flip.
Warming up the cheese and applewood smoked bacon. Everything is better with bacon, don’t you think?
Their fries are SUPER yummy. The Smashfries are done in olive oil and sprinkled with rosemary and garlic. A great deal at just $1.99! I LOVE the sweet potato fries. Double yum. So much better than other fast food restaurants!
